This story is not just about the delicious gift provided by hard working bees…it is about the power of paying attention to life and finding one’s place in the grand picture of existence. 

In this case, it’s about Doroteo’s awareness of the need to provide a safe haven for the bees. Doroteo has been removing unwanted hives from inner city spaces for 20+ years and has made it his personal duty to keep the bees alive and thriving throughout the process.  

Bees are an essential part of the cycle of life. 

We would not have an avocado, a cherry or a blueberry, without bees.  In the world today bees are in danger of extinction. Populations of bees have steeply declined in many places, largely because of insecticide use, habitat loss, and global warming.

Here’s some good news! When one person cares about the survival and flourishing of bees…it can have a reverberating effect.
